A glowing review of Turner B. Goes to NYC
by Ansley Whiteside and Norman Morana

Turner B. Goes to NYC may be a children’s book but it’s also a precious poem and a lively love letter to the city of New York and those that love NYC. Whether it’s Central Park or the American Museum of Natural History…every page and scene is a charming ode to the things we all love about The Big Apple. There’s even a cute moment where Turner B. and his friends (all dogs) visit a NYC hot dog vendor for lunch.

The artwork in this book is exquisite! And I’m not being hyperbolic. Artist Norman Morana’s style is aesthetically pleasing, vibrant, and kid friendly. The illustrations and Morana’s style seem to be in conversation with children’s book classic Madeline (Ludwig Bemelmans), while maintaining a simplistic brilliance that reminds readers of HBO’s and @stevedildarian’s Ten Year Old Tom. The artwork is beautiful.

@ansleyrwhiteside and @norman_morana should be proud of this work and this book. And if this is the new bar or standard being set by @lucky_rabbit_publishing…I can’t wait to see and read where Turner B. travels to next.

Sweet reviews of The Little Lion with the Little Roar
by Nicola Prentis and Maurice Carter

I think The Little Lion with the Little Roar shows you just have to practice and you can do it. - Emily, 9

I think the Little Lion was so cute! She just needed to let her inner self free. I love that story. - Ayla, 9

I liked the crocodile's face when he got scared. - Q, 6

A very cute children's book that reminds children of the talent and power they have within them. Worth a read!
- Jennifer Cantave

Such a fun story, with animals kids will love and a great message!
- Surfca

I love this powerful story of how the little lion discovered her big lion ROAR. Such a fun read with adorable illustrations and a great lesson that our roar is inside of us if we choose to find it! Way to go Lucky Rabbit Publishing on sharing this incredible writing and illustrative talent with the kiddos. - Nell Fuller

Love the simplicity of it, perfect for the little ones, yet the message is powerful. Little Lion's journey through the savanna and her conversations with the different animals teach us about diversity and different ways to express ourselves. The text flows so naturally you sometimes forget the story is written in rhyme. And what a satisfaction we get at the end!      - Elborg

What makes a good story?

“The music of the words! An excellent picture book is beautiful to see and lovely to read. It has a gentle percussion that drives it when being read aloud. It should be both enjoyable for children to read alone, and fulfilling for the adults who will read it over and over!”
-Heather Harris Bergevin, author of Enough Elizabeths

“A good story has you connect with the characters. You can understand who they are, their quirks, their personality and really get to know them. By getting to know the characters in a book, becoming invested in them, and really immersing yourself in the action from their point of view, you can take a break from the outside world.”
-Ansley Whiteside, author of Turner B. Goes to NYC

"If you want to be technical about it a good story has a beginning, middle and an end – and that ending has to be satisfying. But really, none of that matters unless you care about the characters and what happens to them. All my favourite stories are the ones where the characters become my friends and I return again and again to spend more time with them."
-Nicola Prentis, author of The Little Lion with the Little Roar
